Senior Project Manager

Your Mission
Reports to: Operations Manager
Ability to manage core conference projects and take on an account management role, while successfully delivering full scale operations on multiple projects, ranging from small to world conferences.
Main Responsbilities
To play a proactive, senior role in the overall evolution and future development of MCI Dublin and in particular the Conference Department.

- Accommodation management
- Venue finding
- Abstract management
- Social/Event management
- Tour management
- AV and production management
- Marcom management
- Team management for each project
- Onsite delivery of conference
- Identifying future collaborations with the client and passing over leads to the business development team

Description of the Relationships
The SPM will work from the time of handover from the business development team to direct client management on the assigned projects. This role will include full logistical set up and management, including all site visits, consultation with clients, to delivery on site, post conference reporting, budget wrap up and client debrief.

The Senior Project Manager will liaise with a range of other Back Office/PCO/DMC and Events team members in the execution and management of all projects. The SPM must provide accurate reporting and guidance to other team members in order to allow them to effectively carry out their specific roles, e.g. Marcom, Exhibition and Sponsorship development, Social Programme development, Project Reconciliations, as is specific to a particular project.
The SPM will liaise directly with a Project Assistant (PA) who will provide delegate services on all conference projects that are assigned to the SPM.
The SPM will provide training, coaching and mentoring to Project Assistants and to Project Managers, as appropriate, in order to make sure that they are optimising their potential and delivering to the required standards.
The SPM will report to the Operations Manager regarding all project updates, opportunities, challenges and developments.

- Proven track record of managing large scale association conferences
- Proven track record of full scale budget management for large conferences, including exhibition and sponsorship sales
- Strong business acumen necessary for strategic planning and business development purposes
- Decisive and able to make quick decisions
- Strong negotiating skills
- Attention to detail and accurate filing/administrative skills
- Trouble shooter and problem solver
- Ability to work to deadlines and in a pressurised environment
- Experienced in conference registration systems, in particular Events Pro
- Excellent client liaison and account development skills
- Team player and leader
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility
- Can do attitude
- Mobile (international travel)
- Culturally aware
- Excellent knowledge of Irish tourism infrastructure. Knowledge of international structures also useful
- Commitment to excellence
- Second European language of benefit

- Excellent computer literary on all Microsoft programmes
- Working knowledge of Events Pro (registration software)
